CSV → Excel

Convert a CSV file into a formatted Excel (.xlsx) workbook.

Converting or compressing a file usually means uploading it to some site you've never heard of and hoping it doesn't keep a copy. Where a conversion can run entirely on your own device, it does; where it genuinely can't (document formats that need a real office engine), the file touches our server only for the few seconds the conversion takes, then is deleted — never stored, never looked at.

The CSV → Excel needs a real conversion engine, so your file is sent to our server, converted, and the result handed back — the original and the converted copy both live in a temporary directory that's deleted the moment the job finishes. Nothing is logged, stored, or inspected.

There's no right moment to reach for the CSV → Excel — some people run it once before shipping something, others keep it open and use it every day. Either way, it stays free, there's no limit on repeat use beyond a light rate limit, and nothing about a previous run is remembered the next time you open the page. It's also one of several tools in the Files category here, so if it turns out not to be quite the right one, the related tools listed below are worth a look before searching elsewhere.

Common questions

Is my file kept after it's converted? No. A server-side conversion touches a temporary directory for the length of the job and is deleted immediately after — nothing is stored, logged or looked at.

Is there a size limit? Yes, a generous one (see the upload box on the tool itself) — enough for ordinary documents and images, not for multi-gigabyte files.

Do I need to install anything? No — it runs in the page you're on now. There's nothing to download, and no browser extension required.
